You might think that huel is made of fuel, long chains of carbon hydrates condensed in deep geological layers from eons past. A product of the modern petroleum industry. But actually this is a common misconception. Huel actually stands for cruel. It was originally made from the tears extracted from the child suffering under omelas, a high value added export for this utopian city. With the increase in demand, Huel had to turn to alternative sources of sufferin. They expanded to running orphanages in victorian england, making them as cruel as possible to maximize tear output.
